Personal product · Build 1.6 and App Store assets are ready

NAQYL

NAQYL brings together proverbs from the Kazakh, Russian, Kyrgyz, English, Japanese, and Chinese traditions plus a scientific lexicon. Each one is broken down into literal meaning, meaning, and the situation it fits.

Three NAQYL screens: proverb of the day, meaning breakdown, and usage practice
The feed, a proverb breakdown, and usage practice. Russian-language interface.

Why it is interesting

The app works as a trainer: spaced repetition, a guessing game, voice practice where you use a proverb in your own words, on-device semantic search, widgets, and notifications. It works fully offline.

My contribution

I built a custom corpus of 5,883 entries selected from 49,233 candidates by a Python pipeline that tracks provenance at every stage. I developed the iOS app in SwiftUI and SwiftData (72 Swift files, 248 commits in two weeks) and a small Cloudflare Worker layer with rate limiting.
